Il Pinot Grigio della cantina La Roncaia è una bella interpretazione di questo interessante vitigno francese, da secoli coltivato nelle terre del Friuli Venezia Giulia. Il clima e i suoli della splendida aerea dei Colli Orientali si sono rivelati perfetti per esaltarne il carattere più autentico, fatto di un perfetto equilibrio tra ricchezza aromatica e freschezza minerale. Le scelte di una vinificazione in legno e di un lungo periodo d’affinamento, consentono al vino di raggiungere una piacevole complessità aromatica, che rende il sorso molto intenso, lungo e persistente. Il vino Pinot Grigio La Roncaia nasce in una cantina friulana che fa parte dell’importante gruppo Fantinel. I vigneti si trovano sulle colline di Nimis, nella zona nord dei Colli Orientali, in prossimità dei primi rilievi Prealpini. I terreni sono composti da marne di arenarie e calcare d’origine eocenica, la famosa “ponca” friulana, ricca di preziose sostanze minerali. Il clima è particolarmente fresco e caratterizzato da notevoli escursioni termiche, che consentono una maturazione delle uve con aromi molto intensi. La vendemmia si svolge nel corso del mese di settembre e i migliori grappoli sono avviati alla fermentazione in barrique di rovere francese di Allier. La maturazione si svolge sempre in barrique, per un periodo di circa un anno, a cui segue un affinamento in bottiglia di alcuni mesi. Il bianco Pinot Grigio, realizzato dalla cantina La Roncaia, è un vino fruttato e dal profilo particolarmente morbido, che sta vivendo un periodo di grande successo, soprattutto sui mercati internazionali. La sua piacevolezza gustativa, la sua straordinaria duttilità a tavola, lo rendono particolarmente adatto ad abbinamenti con risotti con verdure, risotti di mare, minestre e zuppe. Nel calice si presenta di colore giallo paglierino chiaro con brillanti riflessi ramati. Il bouquet è ampio e intenso, con aromi di frutta a polpa bianca, pesca, pera, cenni di frutta tropicale e sfumature di morbide spezie. Il sorso è ricco e suadente, con un frutto maturo e cremoso, che accompagna verso un finale armonioso, connotato da una piacevole vena sapida.
